ABUJA — Nigerian Instagram content creator and fashion model, Tobi The Creator has denied being a crossdresser.
Recall that the House of Representatives is considering a bill aimed at criminalizing cross-dressing except it is done for the purpose of entertainment.
The bill was reported to pass its first reading on the floor of the House on Tuesday.
With this proposed law, crossdressers now risk 6 months jail term or a fine of N500,000 if passed.
Reacting to the latest development, Tobi who features in some of James Brown’s videos and photos dressed as a woman has released a disclaimer, stating that he is not a crossdresser but a skit maker who wears female clothes for entertainment purposes.
His post on Facebook read, “Please, nobody should call me a crossdresser. It hurts so bad because I’m not, I’m just an entertainer.”
