Nigerian transvestite, James Brown, born James Chukwueze Obialor, has taken to the microblogging site, Twitter to address some persons describing him as a crossdresser.
His reaction is coming days after Umar Muda, a member of the House of Representatives had introduced a bill that seeks to amend the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act of 2013 by including cross-dressing as one of the offences under the act, except for entertainment purposes.
Reacting to the news, the self-acclaimed princess of Africa stressed that he is a drag queen and not a crossdresser.
“Point of correction, I am NOT a crossdresser. I am a DRAG Queen. Do your research before you come for me,” he tweeted.
He added that he is a comedian and does not identify as a crossdresser.
His tweets read further, “My job is to entertain using my personality and my beauty, you already know the vibes! I am a COMEDIAN. You thought I was making you laugh for no reason.”
Speaking about the anti-crossdressing bill, he wrote, “I am PRINCESS OF AFRICA, This bill has nothing on me. Don’t underestimate the power that I carry.
“Ask my fans, ask those that know me personally. On a daily, I give you James without all the glam and the feminine touch. Abeg efi mi si le (leave me alone), let me enjoy my life. Omo to dun toyin (sweet girl).”
West African Pilot News had earlier reported that James Brown’s best friend, Tobi The Creator and rival, Bobrisky have also reacted to the bill.
