YOLA — The Women wing of Hoba Development Association, Abuja branch has donated assorted hospital equipment worth hundreds of thousands of naira to health care facilities across the seven districts in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

The donation is part of humanitarian activities carried out by the group in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, and other parts of the country.

The items include Pads, Umbilical cords, Bedsheets, Blood Pressure monitoring devices, Hand gloves, surgical blades, and Nightingales.

Presenting the items to representatives of the benefitting communities at the Hong local government secretariat of Primary Health Care Development Authority Hong on Saturday, the President Hoba Development Association (HDA) Abuja branch, Barrister Alheri Tol Bulus Nyako enumerated some interventions made by the association last year and will consolidate on it this year.

“On this particular occasion, it is the women of HDA who embark on this initiative of health intervention, we know the importance of health and we know the government alone cannot adequately cater to the needs of the entire communities in the state,” he said.

Nyako called on the entire Hoba to unite and work as a team for the progress and development of the Hong local government area.

In her address, the Woman leader Hoba Development Association, Abuja branch, Mrs. Rejoice Yaduma said the donation which is a widow’s mite is to reduce the untold stress experienced by people particularly in the health sector.

“The Hoba Development Association (Women’s wing) Abuja is proud to present and distribute hospital materials to the health care facilities within seven districts in Hong local government of Adamawa state.

“I want to assure you that we will continue to put in our best efforts to support in the areas of need because we always have you in our thoughts,” she said.

In his remark, the Executive Secretary Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADPHCDA) Dr Suleiman Saidu Bashir applauded the intervention by members of the association and pledged to publicize it for others to emulate.

Bashir while unveiling some activities lined up for implementation by the agency explained that all health care activities aimed at improving the wellbeing of the citizenry have been resuscitated.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary Primary Health Care Development Authority Hong local government Alhaji Adamu Hassan Pella while acknowledging the donations lauded the women wing of HDA for the foresight, assuring that the items would reach the targets audience.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman Hong local government council, Usman Inuwa Wa’aganda who was excited with the gesture urged other similar bodies of Kilba extraction to emulate HDA noting that such efforts would stimulate development in the area.

He charged health workers to use the items for the purpose intended, and pointed out that the council will key into such programmes so as to strengthen the health care delivery in the local government.

The District Head of Pella and Dankade Adamawa Alhaji Saleh Mamman Daksiri who is also the chairman Social Mobilization Group Hong local government lauded the foresight of the women wing, attributing it to the disposition of women who always contribute things that will be beneficial to mankind.

He urged them to maintain the tempo.
