The APGA Idemili North local government executive and ward executive played host to Uzuegbuna Okagbue, APGA frontline contender for Anambra Central Senatorial seat in the upcoming national elections.

The meeting originally intended exclusively for Idemili North APGA leaders, surprisingly extended to a meeting of APGA members and non-party members in Idemili North, as all converged at the local government secretariat; the venue of the meeting, to show solidarity to Uzuegbuna Okagbue’s aspiration to the 10th Senate. APGA party leaders in the local government who gathered consisted of all Idemili North local government executive members and all ward executive members.

In his remarks, while breaking kola nut, Chief Augustine described Uzu as a credible aspirant that has what it takes to represent the zone at the Red Chambers. “Uzu is credible and capable, we must support him to go to the senate”, he said. This was followed by Chief Chuks Igboanua’s opening comments wherein he thanked Uzuegbuna Okagbue and his team for coming and also assured him of Idemili North’s readiness to listen carefully to why he has come and work with him to realize his aspiration. In his words, “We welcome you Chief Uzu, and we believe that what you are looking for which has brought you here, you shall find it.”

On his part, the leading APGA aspirant for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Tony Oneweek Muonagor  emphasized that APGA must get it right this time around. “Those that worked for the party are the ones that must fly the party’s ticket. Uzu is a sharp guy. APGA must get it right and give its tickets to men that can win election. Uzu is such a man; he is the answer to APGA’s prospects of winning Anambra Central senatorial zone,” Hon. Mounagor said.

Addressing the party men and women, Uzuegbuna Okagbue reminded them that they are all brothers and sisters. “Dunukofia was carved out of Idemili, so we are brothers and sisters. I asked to see you all, to tell you that your son whom you have invested in and trained, has considered carefully and has come to inform you that I am running for Anambra Central Senate. I have what it may take to win the election for APGA. I only need your support and with it, we shall surely win”, Uzu concluded.

Reacting to his brief but superb presentation, Barr. Darlington Okeke an APGA stalwart in Idemili North described Uzu as a man of “capacity who is suitable for the project. Uzu will win this election for us”, he declared. Others who spoke include Hon. Ebelechukwu, an APGA stakeholder in the local government and APGA vice chairman in Idemili North, Chief Vincent Okechukwu. While the closing prayer was said by Hon. Obi-Iwuchukwu Chinwenwa.

Uzuegbuna Okagbue was received with pomp and exceptionally hospitable gesture that can be likened to a carnival; which points to the level of total support to Okagbue’s aspiration, by Idemili North Local Government Area.
