The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has honored pop sensation, Rihanna with a statue of her pregnant self in its establishment.
Rihanna was noticeably absent from this year’s Met Gala red carpet which took place on Monday.
However, the star’s presence was still very much felt inside The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was immortalised in marble, modelled on the recent cover shoot she did for the May issue of Vogue magazine.
Thrilled with the honour, the pregnant singer took to Twitter and shared a video which she captioned:
“Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one.”
Over the past few months, Rihanna, who is expecting her first child with her rapper boyfriend, A$AP Rocky has been pushing boundaries with her pregnancy style.
She is always seen displaying her growing bump with pride.
