The Police Command in Adamawa says normalcy has been restored in Lafiya, Lamurde Local Government Area, after a clash between Lunguda and Waja communities.

DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Command’s spokesperson, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Yola.

“The incident occurred on Monday morning and the command immediately dispatched police personnel to restore normalcy in the area.

“The Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, immediately sent a team of mobile police anti homicide squad to the area and as of now normalcy has been restored,” he said.

According to him, the police have not compiled the statistics of casualties, but said investigations are ongoing.

Nguroje called on the people and travelers to go about their normal businesses.

Recall that the communities share borders with Gombe state and have been clashing with each other over farmlands particularly during the rainy season.
