ENUGU — The Federal Government has approved an indigenous company Ingrace Group to assemble vehicles in Nigeria.
The CEO of Ingrace Group, Chief Onu, revealed this when he paid a courtesy visit cum presentation of a car to the state government on Wednesday at the Enugu State Government House, Independence Layout, Enugu.
Onu who came into the company of his management team and some brands out of the 11 of their vehicles for inspection called on the state government to assess the company vehicle’s durability, flexibility, and strength.
“Our automobile company is in partnership with Chinese companies and has acquired over 600 plots of land at Ezimo, Udenu Local Government Area, for the assembly plant and we have equally paid for all the assembling equipment,” Onu disclosed.
“In our last management meeting, it was approved that we donate one of the vehicles to the Enugu State Government for use, for them to see the durability, flexibility, and strength of this vehicle; hence this gift.”
Acknowledging the State Governor’s support to the company over the years in an individual capacity sought the support of the Enugu State Government House and her blessings.
“We believe that on our own we cannot do it alone. But working with public-spirited individuals and the state government we can be able to achieve our target,” Chief Onu said.
Receiving the car gift on behalf of the State Government, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya promised the state government will devise policies to foster growth and actualization of efficient vehicle assembling and manufacturing in Enugu state.
“We congratulate you on this great feat; a clear demonstration of “We can do it in Nigeria” spirit,” the SSG revealed.
