ENUGU — The Labour Party Presidential aspirant Mr. Peter Obi on Tuesday said his goal and aspiration is to save Nigeria; to move Nigeria from a consuming nation to a productive nation, from sharing formula to production formula.
Obi stated this on a phone in program at Urban Radio in Enugu where he was accompanied by Chief Victor Umeh.
Nigeria he said has the human resource, the population to drive the economy if managed efficiently and effectively.
“The Economy of Nigeria is the problem. Our export last year is under 30 billion dollars which is totally unacceptable for a country sitting on 923 km2 of land with over a 200 million people.”
Speaking further on strategies to turn around the ailing nation, Peter Obi stated that his team will strategically harness each region’s potential for the good of the nation at large.
“The oil in Nigeria is the vast land in the North wherein we can produce all we need for exportation,”
“Borno state can export food. Niger and Taraba states with their vast lands will be turned into a production site while Kano and Kaduna states become the processing centres,”
“Aba to Nnewi will be the manufacturing centre and Lagos the financial centre; this will change the nation,” the Labour party Presidential candidate proposed.
Obi’s intention is to capitalize on the strengths of each zone to build the nation since the oil we boast of can only get the nation less than 30 billion US dollars.

“I prayed yesterday to God to see a humble man to who I can give this savings and God has answered me.”
“I live down the street here and when I learnt that Peter Obi is in Urban Radio, I came here to bless him with this my little savings,” said Miss Covenant Onyebuchi.
At this, the crowd started shouting that they want change and Peter Obi is the man that will save the nation.
