Portable says he has been paid by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to endorse the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The singer, born Habeed Okikiola, posted a video of his meeting with the governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

In the video, he declared his unflinching support for the APC in the Osun State governorship election slated for Saturday, July 16, as well as his support for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Portable left the meeting with a bag which had the insignia of Osun State on it. A peep into the bag by the person behind the camera, in the video, revealed three huge well-packaged brown envelopes.

Nigerians who reacted to the video expressed their anger at Portable. They called him out for backing Oyetola’s re-election bid and for asking Nigerians to vote for Tinubu at the 2023 polls.

Hitting back at his critics, the self-acclaimed wahala musician revealed that he has been paid by the APC to endorse their candidates, urging his critics to allow him do his “job”.

“If they pay you, you have to work. I was once paid to insult Tinubu, but that was a long time ago. Now, I have been paid by the APC to support Tinubu and I will do so,” the Zazuu Zeh crooner said in Yoruba in a video he shared on his Instagram page on Thursday.

He added, “If they pay you, do your job, no ripping. When I was asked to insult Tinubu, I collected my money and did my job. Now, it’s Tinubu’s turn. The APC have paid me to endorse him, and I must do the work for the money I collected. Akoi APC.”

Portable’s claims in his follow-up video confirms that the three huge well-packaged brown envelopes in a paper bag in the video he shared on Wednesday contained bundles of banknotes.

As of the time of filing this report, the APC has yet to debunk the outrageous claims made by the artiste.
