The founder of Christ Embassy Ministry, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has suspended his nephew, Daysman Oyakhilome Woghiren, from his position as the president of Loveworld Next and Loveworld Innovation.

Announcing the suspension of his nephew on Sunday, Oyakhilome said he was also suspended from all other official roles in the ministry and further placed him on ‘spiritual rehabilitation’.

“For the LoveWorld Innovations which are part of our youth organizations, the one who has been the President of LoveWorld Next and LoveWorld Innovations, this man Oyakhilome Woghiren, is hereby removed from being president of LoveWorld Next and LoveWorld Innovations and also suspended from all official roles for acts of gross misconduct,” the preacher had said.

“So he no longer handles any of that and I’m putting him under spiritual rehabilitation. He has to go through spiritual rehabilitation from now, with immediate effect. Such misconduct is unacceptable.”

Some media reports had linked Woghiren’s suspension with his alleged relationship with former Lagos governor and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Woghiren was recently appointed as the Global Youth Ambassador for the Bola Tinubu Support Organization (BTSO), a support group for Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

However, The West African Pilot gathered that Woghiren’s suspension is unconnected with his involvement in partisan politics.

Sources in the church who work closely with the church authorities revealed that his suspension was due to an undisclosed ‘gross misconduct’, just as Pastor Oyakhilome stated.

“No, the removal of his (Oyakhilome) nephew was not related to Tinubu as being suggested,” SaharaReporters quoted one of the church sources as saying.

“It had to do with an accumulation of misconduct on the part of his nephew (Woghiren),” another source said.
