The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has praised young Nigerians for elevating the country by consistently breaking new records in their respective fields.

Tinubu, in a broadcast video released via his verified Twitter handle on Friday to commemorate the 2022 International Youth Day, extended greetings to all young Nigerians at home and in diaspora, noting that, “Ours is a land blessed with the inexhaustible energies and brilliance of young people.

“Every day, they keep breaking new boundaries and records in almost every human endeavour. The creativity that lives in the heart of the average Nigerian youth shines bright like the sun.”

He hailed Nigerian musicians including Temilade Openiyi aka Tems, David Adeleke alias Davido, Tiwa Savage, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, and Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid for their international milestones.

According to him, “Our music is moving people and making them dance in major venues across the world.”

The former governor of Lagos also acknowledged and appreciated young Nigerian innovators including Michelle Elegbe, MD/CEO of Interswitch; Tarebi Alebiosu, founder of Yoke Solutions Limited; Odunayo Eweniyi, Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer PiggyVest, among others. He called them “our ambassadors of hope.”

“I must acknowledge and appreciate the innovators that power the economy that has changed lives,” he said.

“People like Michelle Elegbe, Tarebi Alebiosu, Aniedi Udo-Obong, Odunayo Eweniyi, Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin, and many others leading the way, embellishing through their enterprise, creativity and vision.

“Our nation has a fast growing reputation as the best place for tech entrepreneurship on the African continent. Our future is full of hope and excitement in part because of the work these men and women have done and continue to do. They are our ambassadors of hope.”

Speaking further, the APC candidate applauded Nigerian female athletes for their record-breaking feats at the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the United Kingdom.

“What can I say that has not been said about the queen of the tracks, Tobi Amusan?,” Tinubu queried.

He further added, “Record breaker, Ese Brume; fearless wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye; and speed setter, Favour Ofili are but a few of the young ladies showing the men how it is done and showing the world that Nigeria is more than just a footballing nation.”
