ENUGU — CP Ahmed Ammani, new Commissioner of Police Enugu State Police Command has pledged to combat existing and emerging acts of crime and criminality in Enugu State while soliciting citizens’ cooperation, especially in the area of timely sharing of credible information and/or intelligence.

CP Ammani took over from CP Abubakar Lawal and assumes duty as the 27th Commissioner of Police of the Command; CP Lawal is redeployed to Kano State Command.

The new CP Ahmed Ammani hails from Malumfashi Local Government Area of Kastina State and holds a Bachelor Arts (BA) Honours Degree in Hausa and Islamic Religious Studies from Bayero University Kano, a Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from Hong Kong University.

He was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and commissioned as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, went on Secondment at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the lndependent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC); he was once a Director of Internal Affairs (DIA), EFCC, Abuja.

CP Ammani has participated in several Peace Support Operations, including United Nations Transitional Administration Mission in East Timor (UNTAET) and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISCOM).

CP Ammani is a seasoned and versatile Senior Police Officer and brings with him a wealth of administrative, operational and intelligence/investigation experience garnered over a period of more than thirty (30) years.
