President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday arrived in the southeastern state of Imo to commission some projects by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

The President arrived at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport at exactly 11:00 am and was received by Governor Uzodimma and other leaders of the state, Channels Television reports.

Notwithstanding that socio-economic activity was on Tuesday grounded in the southeast following a sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in solidarity with its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who appeared in court today in protest against President Buhari’s visit to Owerri, the president was welcomed by a crowd at the airport with most of them comprising men in red caps and white outfits.

There were also women in traditional outfits dancing on the tarmac as the President arrived.

However, economic activities were grounded in Imo State and only a few vehicular movements were seen in parts of the state capital despite the presidential visit to the state.
