LAGOS — Youths in the southern region of the country have embarked on a six-day jogging exercise to drum support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

The jogging was flagged off at the Bayelsa secretariat of APC by the state chairman of the party, Dr. Dennis Otiotio.

The group is expected to jog from Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, to Lagos. The exercise was tagged ‘Southeast/South-south Jogging for Tinubu Campaign Initiative’.

The coordinator of the group, Sam Adaga, remarked that the 25-member team consists of at least two representatives from each of the 11 states in the southeast and south-south, and the leadership of the group.

He explained that the aim of the jogging exercise was to raise awareness of the presidential bid of Tinubu among the populace, particularly across settlements along their Yenagoa—Lagos route.

In his address to the team shortly before their take-off, the state APC chairman applauded the youths for volunteering to drum support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket. He said the gesture was an indication that Nigerian youths desire Tinubu.

Otiotio added that he was impressed that APC youths in Bayelsa state initiated the exercise. According to him, it shows the support from the state for Tinubu’s presidential bid.
