YOLA — Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended two Cameroonians who engaged in the human skulls and bones business have been apprehended in the Farang village of Fufore local government area of the state.

At the time of arrest, two human skulls and several bones were found in their possession.

Also arrested in connection with the crime are a woman and a commercial motorcycle operator.

The two principal suspected Cameroonians, Raji Silver, and Nodji Kodji were arrested on 11th October 2022 with the exhibits in Garware village, Fofure LGA of Adamawa state while searching for another buyer as Dauda Yakubu who allegedly bought the items sometimes ago turn down offer to buy it now.

The suspects had confessed that they removed the skulls and the bones from a grave in Cameroon and sold it to Dauda, who once bought the human bones at the sum of five million Cameroonian currency.

Parading the suspects, Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects were arrested by the patrol team led by CSP Usman Jauroyel while on routine patrol in the area.

SP Nguroje noted that it was another remarkable achievement recorded by the Command in its effort towards fighting crime and criminality in society.

PPRO said the suspects had confessed to the crime, adding that the Commissioner of Police, S.K Akande, had ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation.

Nguroje, said so far investigation had led to the arrest of three more suspects in connection to the crime, and called on the general public to be wary of people of such character.

He advised that adequate security be provided at the cemeteries so as to deter suspicious persons from moving around such places.
