NewsArise TV’s Rufai Oseni to Launch Literary Prize for Poetry in Honour of Late Parents

Ace broadcast journalist, Rufai Oseni will on 18 November 2022 launch a poetry award for junior secondary school students.

The award tagged ‘Engr Mufutau Alarape and Christie Poetry Prize for Junior Secondary School Students’, is in honour of Oseni’s parents, the late Engr Mufutau and Christie Oseni. It will be awarded annually.

The journalist officially announced the birth of the poetry prize last Saturday, at the occasion of his late dad’s day of tribute.

“The prize would involve secondary school students delivering poetry renditions,” Oseni said, “and the winner will be given a prize money and technical support to hone the skills, as well as publishing of the winning poem in the poetry corner of the media outlet, VeoNewsng, and other publications.”

The poetry prize will be formally unveiled at the 24th edition of the Lagos Book And Arts Festival (LABAF) held between 14 and 20 November 2022.
