The adulterated items worth N1.7m seized by the Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee (JSCPC) in the Hadejia emirate have been burnt.

The chairman of the committee, Mallam Farouk Abdallah said the seized items include 530 bags of fertilizer, four bags of rice, 14 bags of wheat, 4 bags of sesame, 7 cartons of insecticide, one bag of soya beans, and zobo.

Abdallah said the destruction of the adulterated items followed the order by the Hadejia Magistrate court and noted that his committee will continue to seize and destroy any commodity found to be adulterated.

The committee Chairman sought the support and cooperation of the general public toward the committee’s work in protecting the lives of the citizens.
