The production of made-in-Calabar noodles, Kisimie noodles, has commenced.
This was made known by the governor of Cross River State, Professor Benedict Ayade, via a Facebook post on Thursday.
The governor shared a video of his visit to the noodles factory to witness the pre-production works of the concessionaire.
Speaking on the product, he said it “is not the type of noodles that you find in the Nigerian market”. He said it is “noodles of African origin with natural flavour.”
Ayade said the noodles would be hitting the market as soon as it gets certified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), which he said is a “matter of weeks because this is hitting the market for Christmas.”
According to him, NAFDAC has visited the facility and asked for certain modifications to be made which the state government has effected.
