Police operatives in collaboration with Hunters in Adamawa State on Thursday have foiled a kidnap attempt on the Gombi community.
According to a statement by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa State commands Public Relations Officer one kidnapper was neutralize, while one escaped with bullet wounds.
The statement reads in part: “On 10/11/2022, the Command operatives attached to Gombi Division in sustained collaboration with Hunters foiled an organized kidnap attempt of One Babuga Adamu of Gegeli village, Gombi local government area.

“These successes follow reliable information received about organized crime.
The command upon receiving the information designed a security ring around the target area and luckily engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel and luckily neutralized one while others escaped with bullet wounds.
The statement explained that the Commissioner of police CP SK Akande while commending DPO Gombi SP Ahijo Muhammed, his Men, and Hunters for their gallantry performance and professional conduct displayed, directs them to sustain the tempo as a strategy for checkmating crimes and criminals in the state.
CP Akande assured the Government and good people of Adamawa state, of sustained effort to dislodge all criminal hideous and black sports in Adamawa state.
He then calls on the populace to always inform the police of the whereabouts of Criminals and their hideouts, and people with questionable character.
