There will be a merger between the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) ahead of next year’s general election.

Sahara Reporters reports that Abdulmajid Daudu, the national chairman of the PRP, revealed that the party was in talks with the AAC for an alliance during the northeast zonal meeting of the party.

Daudu said both parties have expressed willingness to make a formal agreement on the alliance.

He said the party and AAC were joining forces to give Nigerians an alternative. According to him, for PRP to wrestle power from the APC, it needs to form an alliance with a party like AAC.

“Only AAC and PRP has distinguished themselves from other political parties. Under this government, the economy of the country as well as security has deteriorated. We have to bring back sanity in the land,” the national chairman said.

Prior to the report, Sahara Reporters had posted a video on its Twitter page where the leadership of the PRP declared their support for the presidential candidate of the AAC, Omoyele Sowore.
