Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), has challenged presidential candidates from other political parties to a marathon in order to test their fitness for the office.

Sowore extended the invitation to his rivals in the presidential race on Saturday during a marathon held in Ilu-Titun in the Okitipupa area of Ondo State.

“I invite other presidential candidates to participate in the marathon and see what happens,” the forthright candidate said.

In what seemed like a jibe at the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Sowore harped on the need for Nigerians to vote right so that the mantle of leadership does not fall on a ‘sick candidate’.

According to him, it would be disastrous for a ‘sick president’ to manage Nigeria which is in itself a sick country.

“It’s for everyone to vote right and ensure that the next four or eight years in the country does not fall in the hands of the very sick candidate,” Sowore said.

“We (Nigerians) know them because Nigeria herself is a sick country. We can’t afford a sick candidate or president managing a sick country.”

Nigerians will be choosing their preferred presidential candidate on 25 February 2023. Sowore is among the 18 candidates soliciting the electorates’ votes.
