In marking this year’s armed forces and Remembrance Day, officers in the military, paramilitary, government functionaries, political leaders, and other worshippers on Sunday worshipped at the Jesus House of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Oke -Ijebu Akure in Ondo state.

Pastor Elijah Ajibade in a sermon, titled appreciating the sacrifice of our patriots for a special service charged Nigerians to always acknowledge the sacrifices of the fallen heroes.

He charged Nigerians to be more patriotic, and law-abiding and put more effort into interceding for leaders at all levels of government rather than condemning them.

In his remark, Commandant 32 artillery brigade General Muktar Adamu represented by Lt Colonel Andrew Osueke appreciated the state government for supporting the military.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said that the sacrifices of the military could not be swept away as many of them paid the ultimate price of keeping the country together.

He called on the people to continue praying for Nigeria to overcome its numerous challenges urging the citizens to be patriotic during the forthcoming election.

Pastor Emmanuel Igbadon and Pastors Mrs. Ayo Ajibade led the congregation in intercessory prayers for the families of the falling heroes.

In the Kwara State, Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says the commitment and loyalty of the Nigerian Armed Forces have contributed greatly to the maintenance of the corporate existence of the country.

AbdulRazaq who stated this at the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service to commemorate the Armed Forces Remembrance day and Emblem Appeal week at Mount Olive Anglican Church, Ilorin, said the heroes served the country and offered their lives as a ransom for the preservation of the nation.

Represented by his Deputy, Kayode Alabi, Governor appreciated the effort and sacrifice of the Nigerian Armed Forces in maintaining peace, and security in the state and the country in general.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, Bishop Sunday Adewole, urged members of the armed forces to continue to discharge their duties with utmost professionalism.
