In its renewed commitment to checkmate crime and criminality in society, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 6 criminals who specialized in burglary of electronic shops in the state capital and recovered 14 laptops.
The suspects who are believed to be members of the notorious gang “Shila” boys’ that terrorizes residents of the state capital have confessed to the crime.
The suspects are Faisal Abubakar, 18, Abdulsalam Muhammed, 17, Mahmud Musa, 18, Abdul Aziz Muhammed, 18, Abubakar Jidda, 18, and Christopher Daniel, 30.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa state Police Public Relations Officer, said the Command had on 7/1/2023, disconnected the criminal network of Shila gangsters, connecting Upper and Down Luggere in Yola North Local Government Area and arrested the suspects.
“The suspected Shila boys specialize in burgling and stealing valuable items from peoples’ shops and houses within the State Capital.
“Interestingly, Fourteen (14) computer laptops were recovered from the suspects in the course of the investigation,” Nguroje said.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police in the state CP Sikiru Akande, assured the government and good people of Adamawa state, of sustained effort to dislodge all criminal hideouts and black spots in the state
He added that CP Akande had directed a total clamp down on criminals who are bent on disrupting the peace of the public, and called on the citizens to always inform the police and other security agencies of the whereabouts of criminals and their hideouts.
