The intense excitement of residents on Thursday at the Labour Party Presidential Campaign rally in Enugu was unprecedented and overwhelming as the popular Michael Okpara Square; the venue for major state events was filled with electorates in support of the Presidential candidature of Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Obi stated that the time has come to take back our country from corrupt politicians who ground the country to a halt.

“We are tired of fake promises. We have more people living in poverty in Nigeria than in India and China combined. We cannot continue this way. We cannot continue with the level of stealing, insecurity, and suffering in the land. I and Datti are prepared to secure and unite Nigeria.”

The former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi then urged the people to come out en masse and vote for the Labour party promising to enthrone a new order that would serve the interest of Nigerians.

“In a country of 200 million people and 133 million are living in poverty, don’t you think something is wrong somewhere? We cannot continue this way; millions of people are jobless, look at the level of insecurity and killings.”

“If voted into power, we will secure and unite the country. Nigerians will be friendly with the police and other security agencies. Rule of law shall be the order and together we move Nigeria from consumption to production economy; it is time to rescue the country.”
