To fight fire outbreaks and destruction of goods and properties, the Enugu state government has donated fireball extinguishers to all the major markets in the state.

The State Chief Fire Officer, Engr. Okwudiri Ohaa said the Fire Ball Extinguishers act as a palliative in case of any fire outbreak in the markets, preventing possible escalation.

At the handing over ceremony of the firefighting instrument to Market leaders held at the Enugu State Fire Service Station, Engr. Ohaa reiterates the need for Fire Ball Extinguishers in the market; “If a fire occurs in our markets without necessary palliative measures in place, it could lead to a disastrous situation.”

The fire chief also revealed that a firefighting truck and Rapid Respond Vehicle is deployed to Ogige Market, Nsukka, while the Orba International Market gets a Rapid Respond Vehicle; Main Market Ogbete Enugu and Timber Shed, Maryland receive one Firefighting Truck each.
