The G-5 Governors have expressed confidence in sweeping victory at the 2023 General elections in Enugu state.

Speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party campaign flag-off on Friday at the Okpara Square, Independence Layout Enugu, the Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the G-5 Governors, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike assures all the party’s candidates of their support.

“Our coming here today is to tell you that we are solidly behind Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, our colleague who is running for the Senate; we are in full support of all other candidates of our party- the governorship candidate Dr. Peter Mbah and his deputy Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai and other candidates for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections in the state,” Wike assures.

Impressed by the large turnout of PDP supporters at the campaign ground, the Chairman G5 Governors predicts the result of the February 25th and March 11th elections;

“It is obvious that Mbah has won; know that it is obvious that the senatorial and House of Representatives’ candidates and others led by Ugwuanyi have all won.”

In his speech after receiving the party’s flag from the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Party, Amb. Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, the PDP Enugu Gubernatorial flag bearer on behalf of other PDP candidates in the State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah welcomed the G-5 Governors to Enugu appreciating them for their tireless pursuit of equity in the land.

Mbah then promised to consolidate the achievements of Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration in the state if elected into power.

He commiserated with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the people of Abia State for the unfortunate death of the PDP Governorship candidate in the state, Prof. Uchenna Ikonne; “our thoughts and prayers go to his family, the wife, and his children.”

Dignitaries at the PDP Campaign flag off include; the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Augustine Nnamani and the Director General of the PDP State Campaign Council, Chief Ikeje Asogwa.

Other dignitaries include the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi; former Deputy Governors of Enugu state, Ezenwata Okechukwu Itanyi and Sunday Onyebuchi amongst others.
