Chief Taiwo Kuye, the Deputy Director of Volunteer Groups, Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, Lagos State, and former zonal organizing secretary of PDP, South-West, has said that the main opposition party would henceforth revenge further attacks from the ruling opposition party, the All Progressives Congress  (APC), ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The PDP chieftain who spoke to Pilotnews vowed that his party would retaliate against any further attacks on its members, leaders, or gubernatorial candidate in the state by the APC.

Kuye noted that nobody has a monopoly of violence and since the party has notified the relevant security authority about the attacks on the campaign train of the Lagos State gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly called Jandor, the party is ready to match the APC, force for force, in the event of further attacks

Speaking about speculations  that the ruling party could likely be conniving with the police, Kuye said, “Whatever it is, whether in connivance with the police, we don’t care. Any more attacks on us; we would be forced to retaliate.

“When any attack happens again, on our party leaders, rallies, campaigns, or on our gubernatorial candidate, we would be forced to retaliate immediately. We wouldn’t look back. Nobody has a monopoly on violence. We are all on the ground in Lagos State, which is why as law-abiding political party; we have reported the issue to the police.

“If they are careless, we would be forced to retaliate and make our defense ourselves. Whether the security agency connives with the APC or not, we are not bothered, but after this time, if there are further attacks, we would be forced to revenge.

While speaking about the chances of the party in the forthcoming election, Kuye said, “Since 1999, apart from Funsho Williams we have not had any gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State like Jandor.

“As young as he is, he is very intelligent, very courageous, a dedicated young politician. There is no angle that you can take him on, that he wouldn’t be there. He has been in APC before, he understands the game. The question is, why are they shaking? They should have waited for the day to come so that we would see who breaks forth.

The PDP chieftain added, “We have forwarded our petitions to Mr. President and all the security agencies and when next there is an attack on any of our leaders, particularly our governorship candidate, we would come up with serious retaliation, without caring whose ox is gored.”
