The Elon Musk-owned company announced this in a tweet on Monday, stating that Nigeria was the first African country to enjoy its services.

According to an update on its website, SpaceX said the cost of Starlink’s hardware and subscription plan would be N274,098 and N19,260 monthly, respectively.

The company said the service comes with a 30-day free trial, and delivery takes about one to two weeks.

The minister of communication and digital economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, also confirmed the development on Tuesday.

Talks to secure licences to launch the internet service kicked off between the company and the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) last year.

Nigeria is the 47th country in the world to get Starlink internet services.
