The Anambra State House of Assembly during plenary on Tuesday, confirmed the reappointment of the twenty-one Transition Chairmen in the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State, and members of their committee, otherwise called transition councillors.

Four months after his assumption of office as Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo made his first transition appointment into local governments across Anambra State. By todays confirmation, the transition local government regime under the current government is now in its seventh month.

In the meantime, it remains uncertain when local government election shall hold in Anambra State.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly has adjourned sine die. This, certainly, is to enable members take active part in their various electioneering responsibilities. Ahead of the February 25th General Election, some members of the House of Assembly are contesting for House of Representatives. Some in this category include, Hon. Nonso Okafor, who is running for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.  Hon. Pete Ibida is contesting for Dunukofia, Anaocha and Njikoka Federal Constituency on APGA’s platform. The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike is contesting for Ihiala Federal Constituency. Also, Hon. Lawrenece Ezeudu is contesting for Dunukofia, Anaocha and Njikoka Federal Constituency on APC’s platform. Many members of the House are involved in the Presidential and National Assembly Election in their constituencies. For those returning to the Assembly, the State Assembly election  holding in March is barely one month away and they are expected to intensify campaigns across their constituencies.
