The Special Adviser to Peter Obi, on Technology and Strategic Alliances and the 2021 Anambra State Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo has said that the desire to see a united Nigeria will motivate the citizens to vote for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in the forthcoming general elections
Ozigbo who spoke on Sunday on Arise TV noted that anybody with conscience would vote for Obi, irrespective of tribal affiliation, just like former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ayo Adebanjo, Edwin Clark, Bitrus Pogu and other patriotic Nigerians who are not of the south-east extraction have thrown their weights behind him (Obi).
The one time Anambra State gubernatorial candidate said, “There are two kinds of human beings, those who would support people because they feel that they are better, and that is the group of people with conscience, those who are principled. It is the reason I salute people like Pa Ayo Adebanjo of Afenifere, Dr. Bitrus Pogu of Middle Belt Forum, the Ohanaeze, Chief Edwin Clark of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, these people took a principled stand, this is the right thing to do for the unity of this country.
“There are people who believe that this is the best, while there are some who would know the best but would abandon it and keep looking for people who they think would win, that is what politicians do, they want access to power.
Ozigbo further said, “For some of us, we went into the Peter Obi project believing it is the best for Nigeria, the way we saw it, whether Peter Obi wins or not, is irrelevant to us, and that is why we would say let us go and waste our votes.
Speaking about Obi’s edge over the major presidential candidates, he said “We are ready to waste our votes on Peter Obi because he is the best, and if you are a man of conscience you would do the same but if you are a tribal bigot you would go the other way. How can you see Peter Obi and you would go for the other two? On what basis would you do that? Is it on mental energy, character or competence, track record?
“We ticked Peter Obi because he is the best and thank God that over time he did not just do the impossible, he is actually the one who is to win. So if you are on the fence thinking of what to do, follow who knows the road” We know the road. We know him and can tell you for free that he will do well for this country,” Ozigbo said
