Uzuegbuna Okagbue has solidified campaigns for Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress – APC, ahead of Saturday’s election. Earlier on Thursday, Chief Okagbue had met with the Yoruba community in Anambra State in their numbers, in a last minute effort to mobilize effective support for the APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. The Yoruba community in Anambra was happy to receive Uzu in their mist as they confessed that they have not been approached by any candidate for their support. From feelers, Yorubas in Anambra State are in their thousands, scattered across major commercial centres and across villages of the state.
Even more, efforts that have been put in place by Uzuegbuna Okagbue can be felt across his community of Umunnachi, in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State where Bola Tinubu has become a household name. During the revelry of elime ede or cocoyam festival, thousands of guests, inclusive of masquerades of diverse shades, who graced the occasion at the residence of Uzuegbuna Okagbue identified with Bola Tinubu in one way or another, signaling that on Saturday, Bola Tinubu the candidate of APC will likely get a shocking number of votes across Anambra state and the entire Southeast.
Importantly, the traction received by the candidature of Bola Tinubu in Umunnachi during a symbolic traditional festival, is telling to the effect that it does appear that apparently, the community might have also adopted Bola Tinubu as one of their own. This gives little or no room for any doubt that Bola Tinubu will do well in Umunnachi and indeed, in Anambra state. Although this may contrast with what people peddle on social media where some people claim that Tinubu will not get even five votes in Southeast.
Saturday’s Presidential Election clearly promises to throw up surprises and one of such will be the level of unexpected votes that might emerge for APC and maybe even PDP, in Anambra State and the Southeast in general.
