Following the expiration of the tenure of Executive members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Adamawa State Chapter, new leaders have emerged to pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years.

The new officials were elected during the 13th Quadrennial state delegates’ conference held at Nyako conference centre state Secretariat Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

In his acceptance speech, State NLC Chairman who was returned, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, while appreciating the delegates for their renewed mandate, pledged to ensure workers’ welfare is catered for by their employers.

“While accepting the mandate given us again for the next four years, what happened today will spur them to do more for workers of Adamawa State than in the past four years based on the experience garnered in the last tenure.

In his remark, Chief Returning Officer for the election, Comrade Ibrahim Walama expressed satisfaction with the maturity exhibited by the delegates and charged politicians to emulate their footsteps in the conduct of the election without rancour or acrimony.

“Election like any other election, there is bound to be interest left or right, but the beauty of it is the ability of the people to come together to understand and form a united front, I must confess that the union leaders in Adamawa made me proud because they were able to resolve their differences and present a single line up,” he said.

Those elected included Emmanuel Fashe, Chairman, Usman Babbada Vice Chairman one, Mahmud Mohammed Vice Chairman two, Umar Ahmed Jera, Treasurer, Abdulkarim Buba, Auditor one, Shehu Sa’ad Bolware Auditor two, while  Exenty Sanda Jonathan and Lami Aminu are to serve as Ex-officials.
