Peter Obi has said that he is challenging the electoral process that produced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections as well as the declaration of the election results.
Obi ran for the presidency in the recently concluded election under the umbrella of the Labour Party (LP).
He made this known on his social media pages on Monday, a few hours after he appeared on Arise TV’s Morning Show.
Some media outlets had quoted Obi as saying that he is only challenging the process, not the outcome.
However, the former Anambra governor, lending some clarifications, said he is disputing both the process and the outcome.
“Following my response to a question while appearing on Arise TV earlier today, I want to state categorically that at the Presidential Elections Tribunal (PET), I am challenging the INEC electoral process that led to the declaration of Tinubu as president-elect as well as the declaration itself,” Obi wrote.
