Ahead of the rescheduled governorship and State Assembly elections, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri says the ban on the activities of non-governmental organisations in Adamawa State is still enforced till the end of the general elections.
Recall that recently, the governor in a state wide broadcast banned the operations of International and National non-governmental organisations which elapsed today (Wednesday).
A statement by his Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, explained that activities of non-governmental organisations in Adamawa State remain suspended, stressing that dealings of all local and international NGOs operating in the state remain restricted until after the March 18th Governorship and State Assembly elections.
The statement reads in part “For the avoidance of doubt, your operation remains restricted across the 21 Local Government Councils of Adamawa State until the elections are completed and declared; The Government will continue to monitor your activities to restore sanity and halt the disregard for the rules of engagement”.
“Anybody found wanting will be treated as a saboteur and made to face the full wrath of the Law.”
The Governor stated that enforcement agencies would continue to assert their authority, as they had been directed to ensure compliance.
