Chairman of the Labour party in Anambra state, Hon. Emeh Ugochukwu Emmanuel says he is optimistic that the party will win all the 30 state constituency seats on March 18th House of Assembly elections.
Emeh who stated this at a press conference held at the party secretariat Udoka Housing Estate Awka on Wednesday evening, said the Saturday State House of Assembly elections would be a validation of the support given to Mr. Peter Obi during the February 25th presidential election.
He said Ndi-Anambra would replicate what they did for Labour party at the presidential election on Saturday this week and that no amount of intimidations would stop the people from voting candidates of Labour Party whom he said were very qualified persons  who have proven their mettle and leadership acumen in various spheres of human endeavour.
He however advised citizens to ignore all threats and intimidating statements intended to subvert the wishes and aspirations of the people, stressing that antagonists of the party were not sleeping as they are working day and night to actualise their earlier claim that Peter Obi will not win in Anambra state. That 18th March will shame them all.
On the issue of whether the forthcoming House of Assembly election is a local election as claimed by some opposition elements, the Labour party chairman maintained that local elections are conducted by the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) but the House of Assembly elections, according to him, are conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), adding that the Peter Obi wave will still manifest in the said election.
He said Labour party selected very competent people to represent Ndi-Anambra in the House of Assembly and that the mission of the party is to entrench a balanced government in the state and not to impeach anybody.
The LP chairman said, ” We are not interested in impeaching anybody. All we are saying is let there be balanced government in Anambra state. Impeaching the governor is not in our agenda.”
