The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha has been suspended indefinitely by the All Progressives Congress for failing to win his polling unit for the ruling party in the just concluded 2023 general election.
The executives of the party in Gwadabawa Ward of the Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa state announced the suspension in a letter addressed to the party chairman of the state on Wednesday.
According to them, the SGF failed to assist the party at the ward level in the 2023 general elections.
They also complained that the SGF lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in both the presidential and governorship elections.
In the February 25 presidential election, the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar polled a total of 417,611 votes to defeat APC’s Tinubu who got 182,881 votes in Adamawa.
Also, in the March 18 governorship election, the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP was leading with 421,524 as against the 390, 275 votes by APC’s Aishatu Dahiru, famously known as Binani, before the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the election inconclusive.
Meanwhile, Mustapha is not the only prominent APC member who lost his polling unit to the opposition during the election.
Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman also lost his polling unit during the presidential and governorship elections.
