The Igyorov ward of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the Gboko local government area of Benue State has suspended its National Chairman of the Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu over anti-party activities.

This is coming barely a few days when the National Working Committee of the PDP suspended former Governors of Ekiti and Katsina States, Mr. Ayo Fayose, Ibrahim Shema, and former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim among others, while the Benue State Governor, Doctor Samuel Ortom should face the national disciplinary committee of the party.

Dr. Ayu’s suspension was based on a resolution of no confidence passed on to him by his ward at the end of their meeting.

The Secretary of Igyorov council ward, Mr. Banger Dooyum, reads the resolution:  “the People’s Democratic Party Executive Committee of Igyorov council ward of Gboko local government area in Benue state has passed a vote of no confidence on the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and suspended him from the party”.

“He (Ayu) was involved in anti-party activities making the PDP lose at his ward and local government along with his allies who also didn’t vote at the Governorship election.”

He was also accused of not paying his annual dues as enshrined by the party’s constitution.

In another development, the All Progressives Congress, APC state working committee (SWC) in Adamawa State has suspended Gwadabawa Ward EXCO, Yola North local government of the party for suspending the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF Boss Mustapha.

Dr. Raymond Chidama, the Party Secretary while addressing journalists at the party secretariat in Yola said the move by the ward EXCO of the party was unconstitutional and malicious.

Dr. Chidama explained that the SWC had received the resolution of Yola North Executive, and noted that the party members went without cogent reasons and due process.

He further said the ward EXCO lacks the power to take that decision and announced in the media that they have suspended Mustapha from the party.
