Chariman Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Anambra State Chapter, Surv. Gabriel Okeke has received an award of Excellence from Youth Coalition for Education in Nigeria (YOCEN) as
the “Vangaurd of Societal Transformation in Nigeria”.

YOCEN is a non governmental organization established to deliver vibrant and effective educational programme designed to assist those who do not have access to basic and qualitative educational services

The event which took place at Awka, the Anambra state capital had in attendance delegates from the YOCEN, Abuja led by Head of Mission/Secretary General Niger state, Hon Yakubu Nurudeen Yahaya.

According to Yahaya, “the organization Celebrates professionalism not just politicians and the organization aimed at contributing immensely to Educationanl sector, they also recognize those who support and help in building the nation”.

Director General of Youth Services Education, Mr Yusuf Adele in his address noted that Surv Okeke has assisted so many youth through financial support for Education and has also handled his staff and administrative position in a most effective way.

He further stated the the biggest issues found in African is leadership and also they would want to celebrate him because he is career oriented adding that people do not celebrate leaders that go through career oriented but only politicians therefore the organization has decided to celebrate the the oriented career persons whom the youth will be able to look upon.

Youth collation for Education motives is to make sure the budget allocation to Education is higher, encourage high stabdard of Education in Nigeria, helping the less privileged both in universities, secondary, and primary schools pay their tuition fees, buying textbooks and note books and also taking Children out of the street for better Education that is the incampus objective while the campus objective is to invite people like the suyveior to their programs who can educate the youths on their archive and give them clue on life success.

Earlier speaking, the Award Recipient, Chairman Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Anambra State Chapter, Surv. Gabriel Okeke expressed happiness and gratitude to the group for finding him worthy of the award.

According to Surv. Okeke, “I am overwhelmed and surprised especially on how I was picked for the award, I never expected any award from them but I am so happy that I am found worthy.”

Advising the Group, the Chairman urged them to keep up their good work because it is not easy to organize youths and human being as a whole. “Infact this is a welcomed idea. The organization should talk to the youth directly and teach them that success is based on hard work and that there is no shortcut to success”.

Present at the event were Director Foreign Relations, Ivory Coast, Hon Austin Kwasei, Director of Program, Comr Joseph Chukwudi, Director of Action and Mobilization, Kaduna state, Comr A.A Sadiq, Southwest Cordinator, Comr Odeyinka Clement and Director of Gender, Cross River state, Miss Divine Otu among others.

Meanwhile, presentation of the Certificate of Noble Prize for Excellence and group photographs formed the highlight of the occasion.
