On Thursday, May 25, 2023, President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima will be conferred with the national honours of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, GCFR, and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, respectively, by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The event is part of the programmes for the inauguration of the President-elect which was unveiled on Thursday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

The investiture will be held at the State House Conference Centre.

Also on that day, President Buhari will officially hand over the transition documents to the incoming administration ahead of the Monday, May 29 inauguration parade/swearing-in at Eagle Square, Abuja.

On Saturday, May 27, there will be an inaugural lecture on the topic: ‘Deepening democracy for integration and development’ by His Excellency, Uhuru Kenyatta, former President of Kenya at the International Conference Centre.
