Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student of Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has been declared a Guinness World Record holder for ‘most skips in 30 seconds on one foot.’
According to a statement on Guinness World Record’s website, Solomon set a record of 153 skips in 30 seconds on one foot on January 24, 2023, in Akure.
The previous holder of the record title was Rasel Islam from Bangladesh. He skipped 145 times in 30 seconds on one foot on January 2, 2021.
Guinness World Record certified Solomon’s record on Tuesday, four months after he attempted to break the record.
This is coming a few months after another Nigerian teenager, Gbenga Ezekiel was officially announced as the Guinness World Record holder for ‘most skips in one minute on one leg.’
Ezekiel, a student of Ijapo High School, Akure, skipped 265 times in one minute on one leg in Akure on October 31, 2022, to outdo the 262-skip record by the Bangladeshi, Rasel Islam.
Meanwhile, Hilda Baci, a chef who cooked for 100 hours between 11 and 15 May 2023 in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, is yet to be confirmed a Guinness World Record holder.
