A 300L student of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, identified as Damilola Adeparusi, has embarked on a cooking marathon hoping to become a Guinness World Record holder.

Dammy, as she is popularly called, began the cook-a-thon at exactly 12:01 p.m. on Friday.

Dammy’s attempt to make it to the Guinness World Record book is coming on the heels of Hilda Baci’s 100-hour cooking stint.

Between 11 and 15 May 2023, Hilda Baci, born Hilda Effiong Bassey, cooked for 100 hours, beating the 87 hours 45 minutes record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef in 2019.

Bassey’s record, however, is pending confirmation by the management of the Guinness World Records.

Dammy set a target of 120 hours and is expected to cook nonstop until Monday. As of the time of publishing this report, she has reportedly cooked for 55 hours.
