President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after his official trip to Paris and a private visit to London.
The President who returned to the country via Mohammed Murtala International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, landed on Tuesday evening ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, which begins today.
He received a tumultuous welcome from a massive crowd of Nigerians who waited for his arrival at the presidential wing of the airport.
President Tinubu who has been out of the country for seven days was warmly received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu: Senators and Representatives from Lagos State, as well as officials of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The 81 division of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force also mounted a guard of honour for him, while the standing troupe of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture entertained guests.
President Tinubu departed Nigeria on Tuesday, 20 June 2023 for France where he participated in the two-day Paris summit tagged: ”A New Global Financing Pact” which began on June 22.
After the summit, he proceeded to London for a ‘short private visit’, as disclosed by Dele Alake, the President’s special adviser on special duties, communications and strategy.
President Tinubu will join fellow Muslim faithful for the Eid prayers today at the Obalende Eid Prayer Ground, located at Dodan Barracks, the former seat of the Nigerian government, The West African Pilot News has learnt.
This marks the President’s first visit to Lagos since his inauguration as president on 29 May 2023.
