People of Hong’s local government area of Adamawa state have been reminded of the need to exhibit a high sense of maturity and bury their political differences, work in unison, and support the government for development to thrive, noting that no nation progresses in a chaotic environment.

Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Bathiya Wesley gave this indication Wednesday in Hong during a dinner organized by Magajin Gari Hong Alhaji Ilyasu Buba Fadarake in his honor alongside a member representing Uba/Gaya constituency in the state Assembly, Hon. Alaba Adum John.

Wesley while assuring them that he will operate an open door policy to desired development urged citizens in the local government to contribute positively to the development of the area and respect constituted authorities always.

He stated that Government will soon float entrepreneurial skills and other programs that would absorb a substantial number of jobless graduates in the Hong local government area.

The speaker reiterated his resolve to continue with good representation at the parliament by ensuring that their share of everything goes to them, stressing that the mandate given to him is not to enrich himself to the detriment of the electorates.

Wesley thanked Hoba elders and other stakeholders in the local government particularly Gen. Haldu Hananiya (Rtd) and Dr. Idi Aliyu Hong for their support towards his emergence as a speaker and members of the state assembly for electing him to pilot the affairs of assembly.

In his remark, the member representing Uba/Gaya constituency in the state Assembly, Hon. Alaba Adum John noted that Hong local government is endowed with both human and natural resources and enjoined the people to utilize the opportunity for the upliftment of the area.

Earlier, the convener of the dinner, Alhaji Ilyasu Buba Fadarake solicited the support and cooperation of Adamawa State citizens to the Speaker Bathiya to enable him to succeed by giving useful advice and suggestion as well as correcting him whenever he errs.

He stated the dinner is to show appreciation to Allah for the uplift of the status of Rt. Hon Bathiya Wesley advises youths to follow in his footsteps for them to succeed in life, attributing the success of Bathiya to honesty and obedience to everybody.

In his goodwill message, the District Head of Hong, Dan Maliki Adamawa, Alhaji Babangida Mahmud described the speaker as an obedient child and thanked the parents for molding the speaker.

The ceremony was held at Hoba Cultural Hall under the chairmanship of Hon. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, Chairman of Hong local government council represented by the Secretary of the council Alhaji Yerima Sa’ad.

The District Head of Pella, Dan Kade Adamawa, and some members of the state Assembly graced the occasion.
