Claims  CP lacks “professional emptiness in matters of skillful, detailed criminal investigations.”

The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, Intersociety, has demanded the immediate redeployment or removal of the new commissioner of police, CP, in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye.

The West African Pilot earlier reported that the new CP, last Wednesday, charged criminals in the State to leave immediately or turn a leaf as the Anambra State Police Command is left with no option but to flush criminals out.

“We have no delight if anyone loses their lives, but if that is what it takes to protect the people of Anambra State, we will stop at no obstacle to achieve this mandate given to us by the Inspector-General of Police,” CP Adeoye said.

Condemning the CP’s statement, Intersociety called “for the immediate transfer or removal of CP Aderemi Adeoye from Anambra State Police Command as ‘Anambra CP.'”

In a statement made available to our correspondent by Intersociety, the civil society group accused the new CP of inciting the massacre of the people of Anambra and the destruction of properties.

“Intersociety hereby makes bold to say that CP Aderemi Adeoye has by the statement laid a fresh ground to massacre defenceless citizens of the State and wantonly destroy their properties,” the statement signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, the board chairman of Intersociety states.

Intersociety said CP Adeoye, by his statement “exposed his professional emptiness in matters of skillful, intelligence, detective, proactive and preventive policing and diligent and detailed criminal investigations.”

The statement added, “It saddens our heart that when the securitization world is being ruled by digital policing including man-machine-mental crimes detection or tracking, intelligence, and investigation; the new Anambra CP is speedily taking policing back to the Yore or Stone Age.”
