Joy Bishara, one of the Chibok schoolgirls who escaped abduction by Boko Haram in 2014, is set to be married to her American lover.
Bishara announced her engagement to her lover simply identified as James on her Instagram page on Tuesday.
“I said yes to love, laughter, and happily ever after with my best friend,” she captioned the photos she shared.
“James exceeds everything I ever prayed for. God’s faithfulness amazes me daily. I am overjoyed to be starting this journey with the love of my life. Mr & Mrs loading.”
Bishara was among the 276 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014.
But she and 56 others managed to escape captivity by jumping off the truck on which they were being taken away.
Afterward, she relocated to the United States. She graduated from Southeastern University in 2021.
