Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka has advanced plans to deploy the use of Human Resource Management Software towards enhancing daily administrative duties in the institution.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration in the university, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu disclosed this during a chat with newsmen in his office.
Prof Ikechebelu stated that the institution is set for digitalization of most of its administrative processes to enhance service delivery, seamless transition and improvement of work output all geared towards raising the visibility of the institution in line with ‘Project 200’ vision of the present administration under the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences.
Ikechebelu said that administrative reforms in this direction had commenced already with the introduction of the Central Information Reference Management System (CIRMS) which is important in creating a database for all staff of the institution and equally increasing the visibility profile of the institution’s members of staff and the Ivory Tower.
The Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology also disclosed that information flow and management have been re-engineered in the University just as the processing of transcripts which before now takes a lot of time to process can now be obtained with ease by the University’s graduands within a couple of hours upon application and request generated.
Prof. Ikechebelu also said that the developed Human Resource Management software has been put through tests, is ready to function and in no distant time will be fully deployed for seamless administrative processes in the institution.
