Bandits operating in the Niger state axis have claimed responsibility for the crashed surveillance helicopter in Badna, Chukuba ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Recalls that a surveillance helicopter crashed in Badna, Mina, on Monday
The terrorists, in a two-minute-and-seventeen-seconds video, claimed they brought down the jet using an AK-47 rifle.
According to the narrator in the video, who spoke in Hausa, the group are from Dogo Gide group, one of the notorious bandits that have killed many farmers and security operatives and has been terrorising people in parts of Niger State.
But, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, while meeting with Niger State governor in his office, Abuja, stated that weather conditions, among other factors that have contributed to the helicopter crash, adding that investigation had commenced to determine the probable cause of the incident.
