The draw for the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Cote d’ Ivoire held on Thursday with Nigeria Super Eagles drawn against the host country, Cote d’ Ivoire in group A.

Also drawn with Nigeria are Guinea Bissau and Equatorial; Guinea.

Group B teams are Mozambique, Cape Verde, Ghana and Egypt while Group C teams are defending champions Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea and Gambia.

Reports have it that Algeria will contend Group D alongside Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola, while Group E has Tunisia, Mali, South Africa and Namibia. Group F teams are Morocco, DR Congo, Zambia and Tanzania.

The first two teams in each of the groups alongside four best third placed teams will qualify for the second round of the AFCON.
