One of the notorious kidnappers in Adamawa State, Gaiya Mallam Usman, 25 years old who was on the Police wanted list has been apprehended.

The suspect, who hails from Tambo in Girei LGA, along with 4 others now at large have kidnapped 3 people in the community on separate occasions and collected N8 million ransom.

According to the Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje, the suspect who admitted to the crime said he was given only N470,000 out of Eight Million naira they collected from the families of their victims, explaining that he used his proceeds and bought clothes.

The statement said the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, had ordered Commander Crack Squad to take over the investigation and ensure the prosecution of the suspect(s) after the completion of the investigation.
