A Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State has ordered the release of singer Naira Marley and music promoter Sam Larry on bail.
The duo were taken into police custody over their alleged involvement in the death of Mohbad, Naira Marley’s ex-signee who passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12.
The bail conditions, according to Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, are for the suspects to provide three sureties and forfeit their international passports to the court.
The magistrate also ordered them to make weekly appearances at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti.
Magistrate Olatunbosun equally warned Naira Marley and Sam Larry not to contact her for any reason as regards the ongoing case.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she said.
The duo are expected back in court on November 21.
In other news, Naira Marley and Sam Larry have filed a N40 million [N20m each] breach of fundamental human rights suit before the Igbosere division of the Lagos High Court.
They are challenging their continued detention by the police after the 21-day remand order by the court expired. It expired on October 26.
